New Marine Contracts

Metalock Engineering UK Ltd has just been awarded two major in-situ machining contracts for the newly formed BVT Surface Fleet Ltd which is a joint venture between VT Group and BAE Systems.

The contracts are for 3 vessels for Oman and 2 vessels for Trinidad and Tobago and follow on from Metalock’s very successful ongoing contract for the machining work aboard the 6 new Type 45 Destroyers.

Metalock Engineering UK Ltd are pleased to announce that they have now moved their entire operation 3 miles to new purpose built premises in Coventry (pictured below).

Due to the planned gradual expansion of our company over the last 5 years meant we had outgrown our old premises and it was time to relocate. So in April 2008 we moved our entire operation into our new purpose built premises. The new facility is located in Coventry, England just off Junction 3 of the M6 motorway and 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport.

In the next few months we will be installing video conferencing facilities within the office suite to enable ease of communication with customers throughout the UK, mainland Europe and the rest of the world.

The new workshop comprising of 2 large bays has an increased equipment preparation area and extended storage areas and a large machine shop. There are two overhead cranes that have a lifting capacity of 5T/10T (15T) and 10T/20T (30T) respectively which allows us safe handling of loads up to 30 Tons.

We have also installed 2 new sound proof booths with full extraction, one in which to carry out Casting repairs and the other to carry out all types of Thermal Spraying and Welding activities within a safe and controlled environment.
